I put in a new clutch in my 85 Toyota 4x4 about a year ago. I think the clutch can go in either way, becasue one side enages the flywheel and the other side the pressure plate. Both sides are doing the same thing. Remember to put in two new bearings for the clutch while you have it apart. They do not cost that much and you do not want to take it apart again.
Good Luck!!
