87 cellica conv. 2dr
my pump shot the bed (was leaking for awhile) top was stuck down so i tried with all my might to pull it up and well snapped the side arm from the hinge/swivle tried to have it welded but since its potmetal it cant be welded. while working on it needs a new top prefferably vynal + rear window the prices they gave me were around 450- 520 the window was around 120-160 looking for a bit of a better deal.. anybody have any suggestions websites etc? would be much appreciated. picked the car up for 500 (only 14000m) original paint engine runs perfect originaly was cloth top.. any and all help would be very very apreciated

sorry to hear you broke your frame- fyi, in my 95 convertible, there is a switch at the front of the trunk (behind the back seat) that allows for either manual or electric power to raise or lower the top. found this out when i was throwing stuff into the trunk and hit the switch by accident. of course, i didn't know i hit the switch...didn't know it HAD a switch back there until i looked in the owner's guide.

as far as cost go, i replaced mine four years ago for $1000- canvas with a heated glass window, and that was a pretty good deal for this area. 500 bucks for a vinyl top seems ok, but it won't wear as well as the canvas, and is more prone to rips.
