I have an 88' with a 22RE in it. I can floor the gas and the truck will start and sound like it is missing real bad all the while blowing black smoke out of the exhaust, this will last for 3-10 seconds and then it will shut off, I have replaced the plugs and wires and checked for spark from the coil all the way to the plugs. I have also put a timing light on it and the timing is all the way over at about 1000. I drove the truck daily up until about a month ago and parked it with no problems. I dont know what could of caused this problem. Any one got any ideas?
