My neighbor has a 1989 Celica GT convertible but no computer. He is trying to install rear speakers and must remove the rear seats. He doesn't want to force it but can't seem to get the seats out. I have tried to find an owners manual and have not been able to find one.

Can anyone help?

There are two metal tabs that you pull on. They are located in the middle of each seating position. I am not sure but think you can access the speakers by popping the covers off.

I just got done doing this same thing.
If you lower the top, and look by the speekers,they are bolted in from the back. They are 8mm nuts, and they come off very easy.DO NOT PULL THE GRILL OFF!!!
the grill wil break, and will not go back on!!! The new speekes will need ti be the same size, and design to fit correctly, so scout out the right ones.
