Hi, all.

I've got an issue with my 90 Corolla 5 speed. I have plenty of brake fluid in the car, but the pedal travels all the way to the floor before it provides just a little bit of stopping power. Do I simply need to adjust these brakes?

The car has been sitting for a few months while I fixed an oil leak.

Thanks

Sounds like a faulty Master Cylinder.

If you continuously pump the brakes, and you get no pressure, yet there is plenty of fluid (and no brake fluid on the ground anywhere)....then this points to the master cylinder.

Have you checked the pads? Mine was doing the same thing, and when I went to get brake work done, I found out my pads were almost bare! Of course it may be some other defect, but I would definately get it checked out. Brakes or problems associated with them, can be costly if you hold off long enough.
