I have a 92 celica st 1.6L with a 5 speed manual transmission. When i shift to a higher gear the RPM's must be around 3000 and when i down shift some were around 1000 unless im shifting into 1st then the RPM dose not matter but the car must be completely stopped. Im thinking the synchronizers in my transmission are worn out. Rather then rip apart the transmission id like to replace it. I belive its a S-53 (feel free to correct me if i am wrong on any of this.) I know any 90-93 celica 5 speed will have the same transmission but is there any other car i can use the transmission? Also if anyone knows of a donor transmission in or around central Pennsylvania that would be great. thanks for any help.
