i have a 92 toyota corolla i hit a pump pretty hard yesterday and then the speedometer stopped working.
the guy at my local autozone claims it has a speed sensor i took it to a shop and they claim there isn't one.
anybody have any idea who's right and what i should do my inspection will be running out soon and need to fix this.

I haven't heard of the speed censor before, but I suppose it's possible. I would guess something was knocked loose when you hit the pump and just need to be re-attached or tightened. I believe the dash would need to be removed to get to this, but I could be mistaken. Have any mechanically minded friends you could ask?

I'd google the question and see what you come up with from a wide audience. I've never heard of a speed sensor, but that doesn't mean it doesn't have one.
