Hi all,

I brought over a 94 Hiace 3.0L TD Super Custom. However, I am having problems sorting out the headlight compliance issue.

I was made aware of 2 possible options, one is to pay over $1000 to have custom headlights made to comply. The other, to buy a back conversion kit and have that installed for roughly $400. I opted for the cheaper option and tracked a conversion kit down from max overdrive, but i just got off the phone with them after sending them photos of the van and they now say that the conversion kit wont fit my 94 (yet it fits a 93?).

Is the ONLY option then to fork out the money for the custom headlights? and if so, where is the best place to have this done?

I talked to the guys at Silk Road Autos about my headlights as they had 2 different options for compliance in Canada. The setup I got was a new Toyota grill with side and signal lights but the headlights are just sealed beams that were bought at Lordco. If you haven't already gotten your lights done, email Silk Road and ask what they do and if they have the grill and lights and how much it will cost. I can't imagine it would be more than $400. I also think installing it would be fairly simple. Anyway, not sure of the email address but go to silkroadautos.com and you'll find it.
