Hey All,

Brand new member here - I've enjoyed reading a bunch of posts but I can't seem to find anything about increasing torque and horsepower. I just got my first pickup - 94 V6 pickup - and I love it except for one thing. Living in Colorado I need to make it up mountains on the expressway and I can only get it up to 55mph in third gear. I need more power from it going up these darn mountains. I already have a K&N air filter in there. Are there any mods that increase its power? Cold air intake, exhaust? Has anyone done this and what would you recommend?

Thanks in advance. Great forum!

Hi im also new and i know what your talking about. First i would get some exaust headers and an exaust kit that will add about 25 more hp. then if you feel the need for more you can get a camshaft and a performance chip.

The best and most cost affective thing you can do to the 3VZ-E 3.0L engine to get more HP, is to swap it with the 3.4L V6. The 3.0L is far from a perormance engine and does not respoind well to performance mods.

Live with it or sell the truck and buy something with the 3.4L.

^ agreed.. there's not much you can do for the 3.slow. You can do a swap, keep the truck or get a new one.
