Drives: 96 toyota hilux 2.8 dsl

recently bought a 96 2.8 dsl hilux and was wondering if it is normal for them to be so slow. it is a continuous strugle to get the car to sit on 100 kmh just wondering if anyone knows if its normal or if there is something i can do to make it perform better any ideas would be much appreciated cheers!

Take a look at the mass air flow sensor. Have it cleaned with some electrical contact cleaner and make sure the spray is safe for plastics. Spray it down generously, let it dry off and re-install it... see if that helps your slugishness.

hey mate not sure of where the air flow sensor is but have been told that its on the exhaust manifold but i have extractors so if it is it wont be there?
