My '97 Camry is making noise, which is like a clunking or knocking sound when I drive it on bumpy roads, over potholes, up a curb, etc. I can't replicate the noise by bouncing the car, moving various suspension parts with it jacked up, etc. It sounds like a loud knocking noise coming from the front passenger side wheel area.

I've read that the strut mounts on these cars are bad and that could be it. If it it is the strut mounts can you buy them at the local parts store (AutoZone, Pep Boys, etc) or are strut mounts a dealer only item? Any input would be helpful.

I would say strut mounts or the struts themselves. How long has it been since the shocks have been changed?

I think it's just the strut mount b/c when I bounce the car it rebounds in 2 or 3 bounces. Like I said I'm not sure though b/c I'm not very good at diagnosing suspension problems.

2 or 3 bounces??? Then it's definitely the shocks, the car is only supposed rebound once if you do the bounce test.
