my 4runner seems to crank longer than normal before starting. It cranks plenty strong, just takes a bit to start. this veh runs great, I can't see what the problem might be. the ignition timing is no adjustable to the best of my knowledge. any ideas?

Your engine needs the following basic elements to run:

a. Air
b. Fuel
c. Spark
d. Timing

Air and Spark should be easy to check. Pull a plug out and look at it. Make sure they're gapped correctly.

If you're running smooth once started, its not your timing. As for fuel, do you ever stall, or does it get worse when it's hot outside ?
