Hi all, first time here ...I have a big problem with my '98 Tacoma 2.4 engine ...While driving in low speeds the engine cuts off( I drive on the Interstate no problems when Im in the city at stop lights it keeps shuts off)....all the lights come on but the engine does not run... it starts right back up like nothing happened....I went to mechanics but all of them try the computer thing and doesnt say anything ....or they cant read it....HELP....Thank you

I dont want to accuse you of having a big keyring but if your switch is warn out it may be making incedental contact and shorting the electrical temporarily. Its not the only solution but see if it wiggles at all. There should be NO movement. Good luck

if that would be the problem should happen all the time not only in low speeds....sometimes happens when i start the car ...put in D ...accelerate and cuts off... the car doesnt have an RPM ...forgot to mention this

I don't know if you're still working on this problem, it's been a while, but does the truck run smoothly or is it a little rough, or hesitant at times? This could help narrow things down.

I am new here, Very cool, My tacoma hesitates and runs alittle ruff at times. Today it stalled It has done it in the past but never were I had to start it 5 or six times. Any ideas would be helpful thanks! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/gunsmilie.gif)

My first guess would be the throttle body is going. I had a similar problem with my 2001 Tacoma. A faulty throttle body wouldn't trip the Check Engine light either.
