I have a 98 Tacoma TRD, V6, extra cab...problem is a noisy clutch spring in thru the housing.....gave it a squirt of lithium best I could but came back....not there all the time but enough to be annoying. Any info on what is going on or past experience would be helpful. Thanks (on my 3rd toyota truck....buy em new, pay em off, drive em forever!!!)

Hey there, just joined in search of the solution to this same problem. From what I found you need to replace the bushings that the spring fit into just above the pedal. All the bushings total to ~$30.00 but I think you only need three for the spring. My question is, how to put new ones in? Does the spring come off in some way or do you need to remove the whole clutch bracket and all? Cory

some more info ?Clutch pedal squeak in your 1995-99 Toyota Tacoma? On inline Four models, replace the pedal bracket (PN 55107-04010). On V6s, clean the grease from the torsion spring, and then replace the pedal (PN 31310- 35050) and U-bushing (PN 90389-05017) if the spring support is worn. Don't add more grease. TSB TC005-99.

Well, not so much feedback was given on this question, but i changed out the bushings on the clutch bracket where the spring fits in. not too bad to get to, if anyone needs help still, but it still squeaks a little. they recommended a new clutch pedal as well, but it didnt seem that worn on the metal itself, just the bushing.
