Hi Folks,
So from reading online on how AC actually works, it sounds like the Corolla has an AC Accumulator to filter debree and moisture within the AC system. This could hold a key to the smell I'm getting.

Where is this unit located within the car or engine?? If I remove it, does all of the AC coolant escape?? Thoughts??

The accumulator has nothing to do with air quality. I do not know if your car has one. You could have fugus growing on your cooling coil. You must turn your a c off 5 or 10 minutes before you stop driving to dry out your system.
