hi im looking to get into the toyota world, in the past ive owned all german cars and im just fed up with the poor reliability. right now im looking at a 1999 silver land cruiser with 156k for $8000 and a 2000 4runner silver sport with 125K for $7500. right i just want to get some info on the 4runner. i was curious as what i should look at/for "under the hood" to make sure its a good vehicle. also is this a good price? what is some of the typical maintanence that is needed as these vehicles get older? and what do you think the better deal is?
thanks for all your help!!!

Typically a newer vehicle with less mileage would be best, but you kind of comparing apples and oranges. Things you need to think about -
Do you need the larger vehicle?
Is MPG a concern?
What engines?
etc

As for price, you'll have to research that, used car values vary too widely across the US for anyone outside your area to make a valid comment.
