I think I'm missing the obvious. We recently acquired a 96 4 Runner with an alarm system installed. We purchased two matched remotes (Toyota Dealership matched what we needed), and now we are trying to follow the instructions. The instructions mention something about a valet switch, but there is no mention of a valet switch (just the key) in the owners manual AND we can find nothing remotely looking like a switch. Basically, you are supposed to turn on the ignition then toggle the valet switch 3 times to go into program mode.... Suggestions? Thanks

You'd probably have been better off not buying anything from toyota, and going straight to an alarm shop and getting them to sort it out for you. In one car I owned the valet switch was a small button hidden down near the pedals... but it could be anything, anywhere. If you have a valet key, perhaps check under the bonnet.. sometimes there is a siren there with a keyhole in the top... (or go to an alarm shop) :)
