I've got an extended cab 4x2 with a 4 cylinder engine and an automatic. I'm happy with the price tag and the 25+ mpg and really don't want a 4x4.
Living up a steep gravel road in an area where we get some snow and ice or short patches of mud and lots of steep driveways, would the $700 price tag be worth it? I'm thinking with a little weight in the back and good tires, it'll get me most places. I do OK now, when there's no snow...
The device I'm considering is the Detroit Trutrac -- it really locks down the differential, much more so and quicker than limited slip factory installs.
Thanks for any advice!
