I enjoy helping people get their cars running correctly and keeping them that way. Last Monday evening I went to a board meeting of a charity in which I participate and parked in the village parking lot across the street. The next morning I looked at my car and found that someone, probably someone who had been at the same meeting because there was nothing else going on in the village that evening for people to park in the lot, tried to pull into the parking space next to me. Unfortunately, he/she misjudged the clearance and scraped my left 1/4 panel and rear face bar. Sure, insurance will pay for most of the repair, almost $2000, but it's really aggravating to think that someone who was at the same charity meeting and is interested in the function of that charity could hit someone's else's car and then park in a different spot so as not to take responsibility for his/her actions. I'll never understand some people. Drive safely all. Hy

The world is filled with morons, and includes those who are so self-centered that they can operate this way wthout regard for the feelings of others.

It could also be someone who's driving a beater. Check the paint color left behind, and height of the prang. Next time, check out the other cars in the lot, even if you get to the meeting early. You may just find the culprit.

Happened to be in the same parking lot a week and a half ago; a funeral was being held for one of the tireless volunteers of the charity who had passed away at age 86. Anyway, I checked every car in the lot; no luck. I got my car back from the shop looking as good as new. Allstate paid about $1400 and I paid the rest. Lost the "Good Driver" reduction in deductable for both of our cars because of it, but what can you do. Such is life. There are worse things, so I just count my blessings. Safe driving all, Hy.
