Hi all, Over the weekend, I replaced the power steering pump on my 1990 Supra, turbo model. Upon finishing, I went to start the car and all circuits were dead. Everything worked fine before the repairs; my battery is in excellent condition, and was nearly fully charged when I hooked up a charger to it. I cannot detect any blown fuses, but maybe there is a master fuse or are fuses in places that I am unaware of. Any advice would be greatly appreciated; thanks in advance.

Wayne sounds like a blown main fuse. look in fuse box underhood at the larger fuses 60amp. or 100amp. look through glass on top of fuse and see if conected all the way across. if not replace. note the 100amp fuse does not pull out but is bolted in, you will have to take bottom cover of fuse box off to replace. good luck hope it helps. jesse

You may want to make sure that you didn't bump loose the power cable to the starter. All the car's eletrical systems draw from there.

Thanks for the responses, Jesse and David. I finally figured out the problem in the late hours last night. After checking all the fuses and finding them all good, I realized it must have something to do with the connections at the battery. Sure enough: my son had replaced the terminal connectors about 2 weeks ago, and they are painted, red for pos., black for negative. The connectors were heavily painted where the power and ground cables bolt to the connectors. After sanding away the paint to get to bare metal, all systems came to life and now everything works fine. How these connectors were able to work for most of 2 weeks is a mystery to me, I'm just relieved the problem is solved and this problem showed up at home rather than out on the road somewhere. Well, my son (and I) learned something here. >
