Hi Just bought a 90 import celica and, just for a change, by the looks of the posts, I have a problem. 4WS light goes off a couple of secs after starting, and comes on at about 35mph. Rev 4WS works fine. Running in gear on axle stands shows in phase operation at low speeds (warning light still off) and out of phase above 35 when light goes off. However, slowing down below this speed doesn't make it revert to in phase. Switch it off, and I'm back to square 1. Shorting out TC and E1 gives both ABS and 4WS flashing constantly. Both motors appear to be operational, as it reverses phase at least once. Any ideas? Screwdriver in bunghole? Sensors? (how do you check them?) Relays? (Where are they?) Take warning light out and drive very carefully round slow speed corners? Buy Fiesta? Should have listened to my mate when he said "What do you want something like that for? It'll only be a shedload of bother"! I'm about 25 miles from Belfast, by the way. Regards Noel Bell

Sorry mate can't help! This is my first day's experience driving a 4WS. I'm also having problems that I don't have a clue about!

Just about anyone who has a problem with the 4ws has had to replace the back up motor, i have a spare set of relays if you want to swap yours over as a test and i'm just down the road..
