I have an auto 2000 1.3 Yaris, just had it serviced by toyota dealer at 28000 miles (6 year service) - they said that front anti roll bar link bushes split and needed replacing at a cost of £171.00 plus vat. Shall I get my independent mechanic to do it - is it fairly simple? It is a brilliant car, I am now looking to get a manual one for my daugher who is learning to drive (second hand). Thank you!

It should be really simple to do. All you need are the replacement bushings, a car jack, jack stands or ramps and a set of socket wrenches. If you tinker with your car once in awhile you should be able to do this. If you're uncomfortable with this, just have a local mechanic take care of it for you.
