Hi
I have a 2006 Tundra. A strange problem has recently arisen and I would like to know if anyone has had a similar experience or has advice.
My truck is stock with 2 exceptions. I have a popup camper, and the manufacturer suggested stiffer springs and suggested a couple of options. I went with Super Springs. They were professionally installed and I had no noticeable problems after the install about a year ago.
Exception 2: tires were just replaced with P265/70s, stock is P265/65.
Ok, so the only other thing that has "changed" is that I did have the alignment serviced when I bought the new tires.
Now the problem: When driving through a acorner at moderate speed, the anti-slip feature is activating and the ABS brakes are coming on. This is occuring at well under speed limit driving. I do feel the back end "swaying" just a little, but nothing drastic.
The Toyota dealer claims that because my suspension is "modified", the yaw rate sensor is getting triggered when it thinks that traction is being lost. The reality is traction is not even close to being lost. I have experienced this feature working properly once, on an icy road where I did actually lose traction. But it is activating at ridiculous times.
The dealer is willing to trouble shoot further but I have to remove the Super Springs. I will be doing this, but wanted to check to see if others have experienced this problem. It does not seem like these Super Springs should cause this problem.
Thanks for any input
Regards, Todd
