I see that lowering springs are available for the newest RAV. Has anyone here done this or have pictures I can see? I'd be hugely interested in doing this.

Umm, it's should HAVE bought a Scion or something. The English language has been around for quite some time; perhaps you could learn to use it properly.

And what kind of response is that? Who are you to judge how I want to customize my vehicle? What are you, twelve?

I didn't say I wanted to have a RAV4 that rides like it's on rails; I simply think it would look better with less fender gap.

What a jackass.

Anyone have any intelligent responses to my original question?

Intelligent? Like I said...."Should of just bought a Scion". But then again, you'd probably just try to put a 6" lift kit on it.

Why am I the only one responding to this "dumb" question? Could it be that it is just that..........a dumb question.

You crack me up.

Once again, it should be "should HAVE bought a Scion," not "should OF bought a Scion." Perhaps you missed my point of commenting on your grammar.

And, no, I shouldn't have bought a Scion; it doesn't fill my needs. You suggest I would put a 6" lift kit on a Scion. No, because it is not an off-road vehicle. At this point, you're probably thinking "Well, the RAV is a truck and should look like one." Okay, but how often will mine be used off-road? Never. Let me use my vehicle the way I want to, and you can do whatever you want to yours.

Obviously, others believe it is desireable to have a lowered RAV, or there would not be lowering springs available. Just because it is not your particular style doesn't mean you have to knock others for wanting it. I hate to respond like you are a kid, but I think it's justified.

How do you justify making your RAV ride like a skateboard? Why not buy a Scion or Element maintain your warranty goofnut?

It sounds like the vehicle you purchased doesn't fit your needs either or you wouldn't be trying to screw it up.

Lowering your RAV won't get you anymore play friend, it may however get you an unsolicited interview with the Geek Squad.

This topic is so cool, that it's only the two of us on it. And I'm just passing time. lol

What makes you think it would ride like a skateboard? Just because they are lower does not mean they are harsh. Warranty? What are you even talking about? Changing springs does nothing to change the factory warranty.

The vehicle fits my needs in every way. I'm not screwing it up; I'd be making it more visually appealing.

"unsolicited interview with the Geek Squad" Say what? Who talks like this? I think you have me confused with the kids from The Fast and the Furious. Sorry, wrong crowd.

If you're just passing time, why don't you continue to pass on by and not answer? I'll bet you can't resist.

This whole argument is ridiculous. The fact that aftermarket lowering springs even exist is proof enough that lowering a RAV is a legitimate modification. Case closed.

I can buy my springs if I choose, and you can spend your $200 on floormats or something.

I'm done here.

Screen doors exist too but that doesn't mean they fit on submarines. You must see many a lowered RAVs in your area to think that it's cool.

Why not take $200 and put a cold air intake on that bad boy? That would help you tow more computer parts around town.

Or...take the money and get one of those black and white paint jobs like the Geek Squad.

$1 says you reply.

I'm new to this site, so I hope not everyone here acts this way.

Screen doors don't fit on submarines because they were not made for submarines. The lowering springs he's talking about were made for that particular vehicle. Lighten up, dude.

Why do you keep referring to the Geek Squad? Does that mean you are implying he is a geek? That makes no sense at all. Do you somehow think you are superior to us because you don't share his opinion? That's very immature and ignorant. Besides, not once did he say he was getting these lowering springs, only that he wanted pictures or information.

On topic...

Trying to be helpful and informative, I did a little digging. I'm a mechanical engineer at a university, so I have a few sources. The only company that is currently making lowering springs is H&R. Excellent company. Their springs lower the RAV4 about 1.2" all the way around. That's a nice compromise, since it will lower the stance a bit without needing overly firm spring rates to keep clearance. I don't have a RAV, but it looks like there's plenty of room to go down 1.2" and have lots of clearance left.

ksconekiller? Are you from Kansas? I'm in Lawrence. I'll see if I can send you a private message.

Later,
Todd

I am also new to this forum and I am more than a little dismayed at what I just read on this thread. I see that there is not an awful lot of posting activity on this forum despite the RAV being a very popular vehicle and I now begin to wonder if that lack of activity might have something to do with childishly confrontational behavior such as that displayed by IRE RAV4.

To IRE RAV4 I offer this suggestion for consideration: Grow up or leave the forum for the sake of the forum. It cannot possibly thrive if you continue to convince members that this is not a place for intelligent discussion.

Is there no moderator here? Why is this childish behavior tollerated?
