Hi folks!

I am looking to buy a new Highlander. Can people tell me whether it is worth it to pay for the JBL audio system? About the only time I get to listen to music is in the car and I think I want to go with the better system, but I don't want to waste my money of the upgrade isn't worth it. My husband has a 2007 Tundra with the standard audio and thinks I am nuts. He says the other system is just fine.

Thanks for the help!

Mara, I have an '08 Highlander Limited with the JBL system. While I'm satisfied with the JBL system, I expected a bit more performance for the price. The sound is not as rich, deep, and enveloping as I had hoped. My '04 Accord EX-L's factory system sounds better. However, I didn't compare the Highlander's JBL system to other Highlander audio options. Take your favorite CD (or iPod!) and test your options in person. Good luck with your purchase!

My 08 Highlander Sport has OK sound on the CD's but radio reception is not good at all. Very poor range.
