I don't think you have anything to be worried about with the car wash, if it is all water pressure. The old fashioned thins with big plastic mop scrubbers has wrecked havoc on more than one of my cars. It certainly beats a handwash, which iIMHO is the best, but who has the time? :)

There are some car washes that does an excellent job while others do a terrible job.

If I were you, unless I know for sure they do an excellent job, I will just clean the car myself.

If you do decided to bring your car there, make sure it's all hand wash and not machine wash.

I'm driving my first black vehicle right now, and I will admit it's a **** to keep clean this summer. All the dust just settles on it. Hosing off isn't good enough so I've got to find out which local car wash is the best one.

A little dust never hut anyone! I've only known one person who ever had a black car that always looked great. That person is my brother but he has long been strange. He once traded a minivan (he had 2 small children) and while they were putting gas in his new car, the other one sold. It looked showroom new.

I'm not like that.

There is a carwash here locally that has soap in the rinse, leaves a crappy film all over my car. I dont think they maintain it very well. The next nearest carwash is 30 miles away. Dont you just hate things like that, and usually no one is around to help you or refund money? haha

Sounds to me Gigi that it's just a plain ripoff! But then with the nearest other one 30 miles away....I think I would go home and use a hose to rerinse the car!

Well, I think my option is indeed the hose. Which doesnt work all that well when you have caked on dust from gravel roads. haha. Somethign about that power blast of water makes it come out much cleaner. A handwash is in order! :)

It has to be the perfect day and I have to be in the perfect mood to get into waxing ...otherwise, I get half through and walk away and that sucks.
