When I ordered my Prius, the salesman said that there were other colors available that were not shown on the Toyota Prius web site. On my order, I asked for a dark blue prius. Now I'm wondering if I was led astray and if it will affect my order. Also, the salesman asked for a $1000 deposite. I see that others were only asked for $500. Is this unusual? Should I be concerned? Thanks in advance...

George

Dreamstalker -
Call your dealer and change your color request to a color that is actually available: the white, the silver, aqua or dark green. When your dlr goes on-line to submit your purchase request they'll have to choose one of the 4 valid colors to submit....besides the sales brochure the colors can be viewed on-line at toyota.com.....If your first choice color is your only choice, post it for 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice.....
PM

Thanks Priusman... I went back to the dealer and got the color situation straightened out. It's white now.

I did go to the Prius web site and the online help rep suggested that the dark blue will be available next year.

The colors in the brochure are supposedly what is available and will be available - 4 colors now, 2 more colors later - the blues - although I don't recall seeing when in any literature.

My dealer asked for $1,000 deposit (& got it!) - they haven't cashed the check though, and they've had it since 7/22... I think they just wanted to know I was serious!

Thanks for the reply... The Toyota salesman tried to get me interested in the dark blue color right off the bat, even though it was not one of the colors shown in the Prius web site. I guess I'll just wait and see what happens.

Our test drive model was dark blue, still, glad we got electric green so we are truly driving a 'green machine'.

Disclaimer: This is is Canada ... and it had cruise and CD standard.

Now if we can just figure out if the doors can be set to autolock upon putting in drive/15kph AND get a spare key.

Toyota Canada says no, the dealer say they are still trying to find out since our service visit on the 11th to get the above done. :)
