I notice when Im driving down the highway that the my pickup (94 2wd) shakes a considerable amount. The shake seems to increase with speed, the faster I drive the worse it gets. I assume this is a problem with the balance with the tires, but could it be something else? It starts to get bad around 60mph.

Bad tie rod bushings or even bad shocks. A bad alignment may also cause this too.
