My mom was diving her 2008 Matrix XR (FWD, ABS, don't know what else you'd want to know) at low speed (< 25 mph), when her brakes went out. They'd been fine a couple minutes before. Now she's terrified to drive it (that is, after she gets it fixed).

I know this isn't a lot of information; I don't know much more than this, but I can find out anything you'd want to know. Is this a common problem? Does anyone have any suggestions as to what to do?

Thanks

What do you mean they went out? Was the pedal soft or hard when they "went" out? Any fluid leaking anywhere?

After some questioning, Mom admitted that the "funny feeling" was the brake pedal vibration you get when ABS kicks in. She's never had the brakes go active like that before, so she was a little freaked out.

Sounds to me like the car did everything it was supposed to. Thanks for responding!
