Hi All,
I am looking as to where I might get a metal bash plate for a 1994 Rav4 2dr. The plastic originals have torn away a couple of years ago whilst 4x4ing. I have been told that metal bash plates may need to be attached to a front bull bar but since I do not have one of these, I am hoping there might be a model out there that can simply replace the original plastic ones.

Any help would be muchly appreciated (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

By bash plate do you mean a skid plate that protects the underside?

Not quite sure of the terminology but i've seen ones placed at the front underside of the Rav - positioned just below the front bumper and extending backwards to cover the oil sump and part of the exhaust which joins onto the engine. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/s10.gif)

Ahhh, yes! They're called skid plates here. I haven't seen any Rav4s with skid plates here in the States, but I'm sure someone could fabricate one for you Down Under.

There are alot of places in the States who will fabricate them but the only one I knew in the UK was down in Alton, and I can't find his number. Sorry. We used to have them made for old Land Rovers by a local guy in Scotland. You can probably sort something out by looking on some of the UK 4x4 sites.

Is this something that has to actually be developed specifically for the vehicle? Or is it something you can possible order through a manufacturer?
