im trying to change the alternator in my 95 camry, and i cant figure out which side of the battery is the negative so i can unhook it. both the cables are black and the only difference is under one of the terminals there is what looks to be a piece of green felt or something. not sure..

Green is neg. and red is pos. There should also be a "+" or a "-" on or near each of the terminals, that will give you an indication of which is positive (+) and which is negative (-).
