Hey, I am new here. I have a 93 Toyota pickup 2wd 4Cyl Manual Transmission. I am in the works of getting ready to rebuild the transmission and any tips would be great or heads up to look out for. I am also wondering if anyone knows the best place and deals on rebuild kits. I am pricing around right now for the best deal. Any help would be great!!!!

Look down in the form a bit. A few weeks ago several people asked the same question and I left a long response.

Watch out for "deals" on rebuild kits. Most come with cheap bearings and seals. I rebuilt mine not long ago and only went with Toyota factory parts. I figure the first parts lasted 380k, the new parts should go least that long. And I did not want to do it again.
I replaced everything. Every bearing and synchronizer. I even replaced a few gears. A bearing ate the cage and sent a mess of metal into all the gears. No real bad damage, but a few chips.

I was surprised how little wear everything had for 380k. Some bearings I could not tell old from new and had to really be careful to not put the old one back on. What makes you think you need to rebuild yours? It might be a simple fix.

Marlin Crawler sells rebuild kits for the 4WD trannies, he might be able to help you with your 2WD.
