What kind of tire milage are you guys getting out of the original tires. Have an 07 with 25K and seem wore down pretty good. What is a good replacement tire that gets decent amout of miles. I do get into hunting sometimes so not all on the road and have Iowa winters. Yokohama MA's 17" are what are on there now.

I know nothing of Iowa winters, but up here in the snow belt, many of use two sets of tires. One set for summer and one for winter....I am using my wifes OEM rims and winter slippers. she has 6 months to purchase summer wheels and rubber. Money is always a factor.
Your biggest factor is that only you know where your driving. So beyond saying Michelin. The cost of the rubber is directly related to how much they grip in the summer and how supple they remain in cold temperatures.
Today it is 0c (35f?) we will stay withing -15 to -20 for the next 5 months. Soft grip rubber will help, but not for summer....research, more research man

The stock rubber lasts approx. 30,000 miles. Like Mongo, this year I bought a second set of rims and will be switching between winter and summer tires each spring and fall. The tires on my Limited come in a size which is not all that common and as such my tire choices are limited. I am currently running Falken tires which seem to be pretty good.

I don't know how good are the stock tires in my RAV4, bought the car after the snow was gone. In my previous SUV I had Nokian Vatiiva H/T they were for all season use, but they were the best tires I ever had for driving in snow and ice.
I'm like Mongo I know nothing about your winters, but in Manitoba we have snow, ice, and sometimes freezing rain. These tires sure made my life easier in winter, the road between Brandon and Winnipeg can be slippery.
These tires were rated for 65,000 miles.

Hey Sam the Man,

I know lots about your winters, and they are brutal. I survived Shilo for 4 years during the mid 80's. If you folks want to see a winter that just never ends go to Manitoba, I think that a trough comes staight down from the Acrtic.....and stays....

Oh yeah, rubber. Money gets you the ones that can handle temp. The more supple the rubber the more supple your wallet must be, you see, their not free. Its okay its just me....

Please, dont not start thinking that you can overcome winter with great rubber. You the driver must drive the conditions. I have towed and pulled many 4x4 out of the drink, the ditch, basement and backyards. Just cause you have 4x4 doesnt mean you can stop on ice any faster, wieght transfer is ****..extend the 2 sec rule for following and allow more time for everything especially stopping.

have a great day, rubber side down

The road between Brandon and Winterpeg can be BUMPY. Is it still heaved concrete out to Portage?

Hey Yoda,

The road is still pretty BUMPY. The worst part is the heaved pavement by Portage La Prairie as you say. Nothing has changed.
