Anyone experiencing the finish puckering, or blistering off ?
I noticed it at 38,000, and Toyota offered to split cost of replacements

Never heard of that problem. It's probably from lack of waxing. My Sienna is 8 years old with 75,000 miles and still shines like new from waxing every 3 months. I use Meguirs Gold Class liquid wax. Works great!

I'm talking about the wheels, and not the body.
I've seen in on 3 other xle ltd wheels myself in parking lots.

a lot of things could have caused the problem.

ran through some chemical on the road.

some tire cleaners have a very strong chemical that can cause the wheel to blister.

I believe its going to be a streach to get toy to pay for a new set of wheels.

even if a wheel was broke, cracked or bent, they could just say you hit something on the road.

if paint were coming off the hood or door, etc: i believe you would have a better case.

Your comments make sense. On the other hand there must be some semi widespread problem , otherwise Toyota would not have agreed to split the cost even after warranty????
I have personally seen it 3 times myself in the North East on other vehicles. Considering that, imagine how many cases are out there.
I still appreciate Toyota stepping up to the level they did.

I have the same problem with my '05 Sienna. Lots of post-2004 Toyota models with alloy wheels are affected. I'm trying to get Toyota to accept meaningful responsibility for this widespread problem. You can help by going here and posting photos of your affected wheels on my "Toyota Quality Wall of Shame": http://www.nuckleslaw.com/software-negotia...ality-concerns/

Best of luck with your particular problem.

Thanks for your comment, and your willingness to take the situation to such lengths. I will try to put together the photo's.
Kinda odd that we both have the wheel problem, and also that we both have GLAZ in our ID's

@glaze148: Yes, odd! Send your photos, and I will add them to the gallery. I have received about six since I created my post, but I'm going to put them into the gallery in batches. First time I've used a gallery tool, and I'm getting dup's and other issues. User error! I'll get it figured out over the weekend.

Also, there was an interesting comment added to my post this AM regarding Toyota's financial problems. Suppossedly going to lose $455 billion (with a B!) in 2009. Could explain Toyot's uncharacteristic "nonresponsiveness" in this matter.
