Can anyone tell me whether the original paint finish on the 4WS is metallic? If so, can I use Holt's acrylic plus formulation paint over a metallic finish?

I'm fairly sure all the blacks are metallic, haven't a clue about the paint compatibility though.

The thing is; I used Holt's acrylic plus formulation paint over the original paintwork and there was a reaction, where the acrylic paint cracked/scaled and ran off when in contact water - rain and washing car.
