Help! I have a 2003 Corolla Sport. Recently my upper deck (I think this is proper term) brake light, the one that shows through the rear window between the seats, has acted up and literally burned the plastic around the light that holds the bulb and the fuse into the light box. Now I cannot get it to stay up there without burning the electrical tape I use to hold it in place or more of the car itself. Has anyone had this happen? I'm wondering if it's a recall. Why would the bulb not stay in place or why would the fuse get so hot it would do this. Any thoughts or advice on cause or repairs would be appreciated. I know this is going to cost a fortune to take to dealer to fix but it's not safe to drive without the light. Thanks so much!

wow. Never heard of a brake light melting it's cover. Finding a replacement part for the cover probably wouldn't be too hard, but fixing the actual problem...? Sounds like something electrical, like maybe it's just overheating, I guess. Good luck, and sorry I'm not more help.
