My former question was if it's normal that brake shoes get replaced after 28 000 mls. The answers were reason to doubt if it was really neccesary. Now the dealer replaced them afte 18500 mls..... OK living in Holland (europe) is another way of driving but I do not use the RX as a street racer. What are the regular service intervals in the US anyhow? Overhere 15000 km = 9300 mls Please your reaction. Thanks

Herman, I have a 2001 RX. It has 33,000 miles on it. Shortly after I rolled over to 30,000 miles I started noticing a squeek in the brakes whenever I'd start the car and drive for about the first minute or so. I talked to the dealer and they said it was probably dirt or sand and there wasn't any cause to be concerned , but it's done it for the last 3,000 miles, so I don't think that's it. I don't think I should have to have any brake shoe work done this early, but maybe there is a defect they are hoping I won't catch until the 50,000 mile warranty expires.....????? squeeky
