I've got a 98 tacoma,4wd,with a manual transmission.I just changed all the oil in the transmission, transfer cases, and rear end. While I was under the truck I noticed something that didn't look right.Just below each of the shifters there is a fitting for what looks like a hose but there isn't one there.I've looked all through the service manual and can't find these hoses.I saw a reference to a breather hose on the transfer case but no details and no idea where it goes from there. Can anybody help.

They are the breathers.. My R150 has the same thing. It looks like a house can connect (and the book shows a vent connecting the t-case to the transmission) but I have little vents with foam and no hose. They do still look like hose barbs. I would say you are fine.
