I have a 2002 Corolla with a low beam headlight problem. For some reason the socket that holds the low beam bulb has had a short or something and the socket is damaged...which causes subsequent bulbs to burn out. The local dealer said that it would cost me over a thousand dollars to have it rewired because they no longer sell just the socket anymore. He told me to go to a junkyard and cut one off a wrecked car and then splice it on to my wiring. So far I have been unable to find a junked 02 corolla. Does anyone here have a better alternative or perhaps can point me in the direction of finding such a socket? thanks.
