When you can the color of your car do you have to get it re-registered?

You can change it any time you want, but I think you will have to get your vehicle retitled so that it lists the new color.

You have to let the DMV know that you change the color of your car as soon as possible. I think it's within 7 days or something like that.

Yes, wouldn't want to run into legal troubles especially if you get pulled over.

I know someone who didn't retitle a car after a color change and they ended up with a $1400 ticket and points off their license! So do it!

Police officers get antsy when they pull over a car that's supposed to be one color and is actually another color. They start thinking that the tag may have been switched and it's just a big mess. Please make sure you get re-registered!
