Wheeling, IL. is having a ALL MAKES Classic Car show at Stasek Chevrolet dealership located West of the corner of Route 83 and Dundee Road in Wheeling,IL. Trophies are being rewarded and the first 300 gets a dash plaque. Showtime is from 9AM till 3:30PM. It's $12 to participate and looks to be a great time. I think I will participate in this one, I've never gone to one before but I heard they're fun. Strange thing though, they have different categories including 'Import', which I thought the Celica would fit in. But when I called to inquire about it, they request my car be registered in the 'Special Interest' category, and they told me up front this means no chance for a trophy. Why would it not be included in the 'import' category? This is something I'll have to ask while I'm registering that morning. Anyways, I simply want to participate and show other car enthusiasts the Celica and hopfully spark more enthusiasm for these great Classics. Hope to see others out there. El.

Hey El,if I can I will stop by,sounds like BS though about the trophy and categories.Which cams and carbs are you running in your car and how do they work for you?The Carina is in pieces at my job right now,I do have some pics,do you want me to send them to you?E-mail me direct. The 18RG is in the machine shop right now, getting a lot of extra love and attention including main and head studs,a 2200 overbore,o rings, etc etc.

Hey Jerry! Cool, if you can, stop on by! I got talked into doing this show, I never do them. A buddy says it's a lot of fun so I'm just trying it out. yeah, don't know why I'm placed in Special Interest....oh well. I happen to see you 18RG Toyota Carina while surfing and it was under Fierro racing site. Pretty awesome! It mentioned it was almost a bolt in mod for the Carina. With such a lightweight body, that baby's gotta haul a$$! ;) What did you encounter while making the mod? Has any suspension work been done to the Carina? I'm running 288/304, but a relative just dropped off a 304/304 set of cams. Carbs are 44mm Mikunis. Hope the 18RG project goes good. Gotta mention Total Seal rings while your building the RG up, they've been working great for me. What compression are you aiming for? Normally aspirated and are you running Nitrous? El.

Jerry, what head studs did you use? 22R ARP's, cut them down and re-cut the threads?
