I have an Aus delivered Holden Nova(AE92 Corolla) 1989. Runs extremely rich at idle, ir runs so rich that the plugs foul and then it wont start at all. I know it had an air leak but that is fixed, what is in that carburettor that would make it run so rich?

Have you tried adjusting the screws? Usually a turn and a half or so worth of loosening will readjust the fuel intake.
