Somebody help! My Cd changer is not working all of a sudden. The screen shows in ERR whenever I turn on the CD player. I can hear the CDs changing when I push the Disc button. But no music. First question, how hard is it to fix this? Can I do it myself? If not, how much will a replacement cost? Second question, if I can't fix this, are there any after market suggestions for CD changers or navigation systems? Thanks J

The worst case scenerio is to buy a used replacement on Ebay. The best case scenerio is that the the component that reads the reflective laser may simply be to dirty (happened to me). I used my CD player cleaner for my computer (available at computer stores) and a blast of compressed air into the CD feeder slot to get up and running again. Good luck! IMO, just buy a new headunit. something that is capable of playing mp3 files. you can probably fit 6-8 albums on a CD-R. you can find decent headunits for ~$100 installed.

Don't buy a new head unit, the SC is already capable of of playing MP3 and ipods and all that guff, I work for Lexus and can find out for you in NO TIME.... It might be as simple as resetting the system, or like has already been said the laser might be playing up.
