Apart from the 4 wheel steer, active suspension and suede interior then they're pretty much the same, mechanically speaking. I got through a couple of power steering pumps, but in about four years that was all. They're pretty reliably usually. Not counting the suspension and 4WS faults, obviously... i just bought a 1992 celica and is there anything i should know bout common problems or

sam what country are you in and ill try and steer you towards places where you can get all your bits and pieces for the right price. these cars are getting old so it might be a good idea to strike up a friendly relationship with someone who happens to break only celicas >

yeah, there is a good breakers in stratford, not sure if you know that area, but they have the best parts normally, depends what your after. Had mine for a year, and shes been a dream! Had a few small things i wanted to do, service, timing belt, the tensioners, all pulleys, all belts, rear steering box. Drives sweet as a nut!!
