Hey. I noticed the 78-81 Celica looks awfully like the Chevy Monza (but better) especially the liftack. Anyone knows if one was a ripp off the other ?

NOPE!!!The only thing Chevy clonned is the<br>Nova which is a corolla and later on the <br>Geo Prism and again from the corolla.

One thing Chevy that Toyota used that i know for a fact was the Inline 6 in early Land cruisers, that was completely unchanged chevy motor.<br>1st generation celica borrowed a lot of styling from the early mustangs.<br>I would not be surprized if the 78-81 celica borrowed a lot of it's shape from the Monza considering i am almost sure the Monza came earlier, but not sure.

Just watched "gone in 60 seconds" on dvd... great flick for any car nut... you can defiently see where the 78-81 celica lines come from in the shelby gt-500.. <br><br>Allan<br><br>90..100..110..130..160... Hes gone...

Pretty cool movie.<br>Actually they used about 9 different mustang fastbacks to make the movie, and none of them was a shelby...besides the car in the movie doesnt even look like a GT500 at all,GT350 is a bit more like it.<br>You can see a lot of the 65-70 mustang lines in the 70-77 celica.
