How hard is it to change the heater matrix which is inside the car? The matrix is leaking water into the passenger side footwell and I can see it dripping from behind the glovebox. Behind the glovebox is a white plastic box which I am assuming houses the matrix, is this correct? Does the whole dash have to come out to change the matrix? Anyone done this job in the past? Roughly how much for a matrix? Thanks lads marty

If its got aircon then the white box behind the glove box is the air con stuff, the matrix is behind the centre of the dash.   I did mine last year it involved "FULL" removal of the dashboard and a lot of wiggling and swearing..  and I was on it all day ! (some bolts and screws are a b*stard to find)   I got one from TCB for ?70 second hand delivered to my door !  Toyota wanted approx ?250 + VAT  for a new one !!!  you can get them repaired by a radiator company but the costs and time scales can vary !   Best of luck with the job.  If you've got any other questions shout away !

Hi
my 1994 celica is also leaking from the heater, I was thinking if it could be practical to bypass the heater since I don't really need heat, where I live it's summer all year long.

thanks

Bboy
