Super easy. Pan under car under oil plug, pull plug, drain oil,
remove oil filter, turning counterclockwise to remove, replace oil plug when oil quits running out, replace oil filter, fill with oil per manual.
Notes.
Oil plug is on left under car as you are facing car. Not on the finned pan.
Oil filter is under exhaust manifold, remove from above car.
Put an amount of oil on the gasket seal of the oil filter before replacing.
Hand tighten oil filter until it seats then another 3/4 turn.
5 quarts oil.
IF I missed anything someone chime in.

May I ask, does that adapter that fits on end of garden hose come with the new filter? If not, where do I obtain one of those? Thanks in advance. John.

New connector comes with the oil filter as well as the two o-rings.

On another subject, when I posted those oil change directions I didn't notice that shwme1 had a 2002 Avalon. The oil change instructions for that year might be different than the 2007 in that the 2002 might have the disposable can type oil filter while the 2007 has the disposable element type oil filter.
