Hi - I jsut joined this forum to get some help - my boyfriend and i are the owners of an 89 camry and after most of the maintenence was done we decided to start making it our own. We want to change the gas and brake pedals but we can't figure out how to remove them.

not the entire pedal just what's needed to change them. I've Looked at other cars and some you just have to pop something off. But im still confused as hell....someone please help me.

I'm not sure about the 89 Camry, but I do know that some cars have a one piece pedal, which includes the swing arm. Changing those is a hassle. However, on most pedals the rubber pad can be peeled off and replaced. Many auto stores, and on the net, sell replacement pades woth chrome surrounds and inserts or solid chrome racing style covers, if that is what you're looking for. Check your local auto/custom store for options. Good luck. Hy

What do you mean by changing them? What's wrong with them?

If you want to put some racing/wider pedals on, you don't change them, the bolt/screw right on top of the standard pedal.
