im just now changing the head on my 1990 toyota pickup and heard your supposed to change the head bolts also i already have my new head torqued down with the old ones does anyone know if you should really have to change the bolts or not??

I think you will find that the bolts are stretch bolts, so what you should have done is measure the diameter of the bolt.

You might get away with it, but it's up to you, also if you do them now or later you should fit a new gasket.
