Front right, not both. It's a weird noise and it only comes on when I hit the brakes for the first time in whichever gear. For instance, just in the driveway, put it in D, roll, hit brake pedal and 'CLANK'. Stop, put it reverse, roll, hit brakes and 'CLANK'.
It is a 2003 FWD model with 55k on it, no other history of any other issues, has been great up until now. I wanted to check with the experts here to see if it's something I could manage or if it is a 'take to dealer' type of noise.
Thanks in advance all.

Well I'm not expert, but it sounds to me like your brake pads need replacing. I'd give that a shot first because it's cheap and easy to fix.

Thank you sir, I guess I don't have much going on this weekend, I'll give that a try.
Slightly off topic, but which DIY manuals do you recommend, is the Haynes OK?

I couldn't answer that if my life depended on it! All I know if that from time to time mine make a similiar noise and my mechanic changes my brake pads and it goes away.
